Love is the light on which truth relies to reveal suffering. Justice is both an act of compassion and a response to truth. This pact that truth must keep with love is fundamental to justice. Justice is not realized and truth lacks meaning without love and relief of suffering. This concept of truth is missing from our contemporary discourse. A portion of my campaign for US House (OH-11) has been dedicated to elevating our understanding of these concepts in order to create a moral common ground from which we can all approach the issues and challenges in our communities and country; rather than the status quo strategy of starting from a place of partisanship and division.
