As a physician, businessman, and candidate, I am dismayed at the amount of disinformation portrayed as truth, and ignorance portrayed as courage. A simple recognition of our individual responsibility to question, critically analyze, and verify information before sharing or spreading it is a foundational building block necessary to move beyond what I believe will one day be regarded as a dark period in our information age.
