I signed the pledge because we need to return decency to our politics, and that starts with a commitment to truth. We have seen the damage misinformation and lying to the public can create just looking at this pandemic. But even before then, misinformation put people on the streets, took food off their tables, and shuttered schools and businesses. A commitment to truth is one of the first responsibilities any public officials can take. I pledge to be honest with my constituents because they deserve to know the truth from their representative.
