Then you will know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. Truth is more than just a pledge for me - it goes to the very core of my faith. As a candidate running for office, I understand personally the effects that dishonesty by past politicians have had on my community. Our leaders are not elected for their own benefit, but to benefit the citizens they represent. Unfortunately, too often our elected officials forget this fact. They fall into the trap of believing that small lies do not matter. They do. They add up and they hurt our communities. I am taking this pledge to assure those whom I seek to represent that I will always be forthcoming and truthful as their representative. It is a responsibility that will be entrusted to me by our community and a command given to me by God.
